hmmmmmm then you should not need a lift. My conversion was based on an 18" wheel. Maybe it changes it with a smaller one???

Wheel size definitely makes a difference when you're looking at P-metric tire sizes. A 305/70R16 is a 33x12R16.

It might fit OK on a stock X, if you use the right wheels. Definitely not with the stock wheels though, unless you use spacers. You may get some rubbing when steering hard or flexing out. I'd put 3/4" spacers in the front to give you a little extra room and level the Jeep out, if you're going to run 33s. For street driving you'd be OK, with the right offset/backspacing on your wheels.

here's a good link for conversions:

http://www.wscope.com/tire_conversion_chart.htm

According to this chart, 305/70/16 = 32.8/12 with an 8.4" section height

This will probably work, you may have to trim the air dam a bit or remove it, but otherwise it should fit.
