I did a search and can not find the topic but today while researching to order a tire carrier kit, OR-F, AEV etc I see a YouTube video of the Best Top tire carrier. Now I am new to Jeeping but isn't Best Top a big manufacturer? They show their TJ and Jk carriers and say that the 07 and up jk's hinges can handle 200 lbs. But the 3 layer door can not. They make a bigger bracket to hold up to 200lbs. And up to 37" tires. Every other thread states the opposite. Please school me. I am looking at other models but still would like to know really how strong is the stock hinges. I have seen a jk that had 38's on the stock gate.

 

i wouldnt trust it because offroading, bumps, and hitting the tire against things will eventually damage the door. i would just get a tire carrier.
