Yes the Dana 44 is standard on a stock X model.... which is what I have.

That's on the '08's. I have an '07 X build date 10/06 that does not have 44's front or rear

Oh, I'm sorry I should have paid more attention. Your right, the 08s have the standard D44 out back.

My 2007 X came with a D44 as did nearly all the last half year of production for 2007s and many with tow packages etc during the 1st half got them as well. I'd estimiate 2/3s of the 2007 Xs got D44s. All 2008's do.

The D30 is up front though.

I got the 30/35 combo also. October 06 build date. I am too scared to take it anywhere for fear of it breaking. And no cash to replace/upgrade it.

I Blew Up My Dana 30 Front... Broke Some Shafts But Now Its All Scrwed But.. Im Buying A Dana 44 With Locker In Like 2-3 Weeks

I have to check my build date, but I bought my X on 10/4/06 and it has the D44 rear.

Yeah - forget it...the D35 is not a good offroad unit.

On the TJ - the C-Clips could come off, and the axle would slide right out of the tube like an instant outrigger.





For about $1,500, it seems you can merely swap in a Rubicon D44 with the locker and 4.11 gears...damn good deal.

Its not worth spending the money to make a SUPER -35, etc...just get the next ger D44 as a direct swap in...or stay with 30" tires.
