Any problems with BFG MT's on road?
Anyone had any issues with the BFG MT's on the road? I do alot of highway driving and I'm a little worried about the rain, ice, and snow up here in Massachusetts. Does it really matter that they're not siped?
I hear mixed things about this. The tire dealers all say the AT's are alot better on wet roads, but I know alot of people still use the the MT's.
Any feedback would be great.
P.S. I'm considering the 32"s with stock wheels and suspension if that matters.

Last winter I drove my JK with the stock Bridgestone Dueller A/T in the snow on a windy mountain road. With the Dueller's, I got a lot of slipping going around sharp corners in the road. That's what made me decide to change tires. It got a set of BFG MT's. Once I switched to the MT's, it made a world of difference. No more slipping and much improved traction.
I have also used BFG AT's on previous Jeeps. They performed well in the snow as well.

I will be running the BFG AT's in 33 on AEV Pintier wheels with a BD 2 in lift on my Rubi when she gets here in a few weeks...
I have a friend who wheels a lot and loves his MT's but wont drive with them in the winter, he has the AT and says its better BUT he also says there are still better choices if you arent looking for an aggressive looking tire... I guess the snow piles up in anything aggressive pretty bad

I barely could hear my 35" BFG's at highway speed with the top up until I put the spidertrax wheel spacers on. That exposed more of the wheel outside of the well and increased the noise considerably! Still not enough to inhibit any conversations or interrupt music. Get the 35"s or you'll regret it.
I made a road trip from Texas to West Virginia in the dead of winter a couple of years back in my XJ w/ 33" BFG MTs. Before I left, I had Discount Tire sipe them for $5 a piece. Not only did they perform great in the slush and ice, but I made a few bucks getting stranded doctors to work and pulling out disabled vehicles. IMO, BFG MTs just work.
Another thing I noticed after siping them; the wear characteristics improved and there was very little chunking on the rocks.
