Default Anybody done this???

I want to take as much of the plastic out or off of my Jeep as possible but I dont want it to look bad. Anybody done this or know of a thread with pics. I dont want to waste time removing stuff just to find out it looks like crap or doesn't function right.

I don't understand what you mean as far as taking the plastic off, door panels, and such or fenders. I wouldn't do it.

Taking the plastic off new vehicles would leave you with an empty shell with a motor driving it. I would not suggest it since wires would be hanging all over the place.

Look at J8`s. They are about as basic as can be. only plastic is dash and door panels and flares.

My one buddy had a rescue green Jk lifted 2.5" on 33s and he took off the fenders.
It honestly looks like it had been in a roll over accident. It did not look right.

Please define what you mean by "as much of the plastic"?

Plastic is used in many cases to save weight, not just cost and the JKs have a lot more than it ancestors.

That could include a lot of parts that would render your JK useless looks wise or otherwise.

i'm currently running a stripped down interior because i was going to get it line-x'd. no carpet, no plastic trim around the bottoms of the doors, no console. removing the console looks like crap, but everything else isn't too bad. i also removed the caulk stuff in the footwells and in the back. if you're leaving the carpet i definitely wouldn't recommend it. however, it's not too bad with it out. i can get pics tomorrow

I am interested in stripping the interior. I would not do anything in bad taste but if I took a pannell off and it was only there to cover a wire or some bolts I would rather see that. What about the tailgate hinge plastic
