Is that a pt cruiser behind you???
Why yes it is! The place that is pictured actually has cabins and hiking trails up near the middle of it. There is a dirt road that crosses this trail several times and is the main route for the folks that live and hike in the area.

In search of the o'mighty HP gain, I installed JBA headers. No gain to be found and in fact, the headers have melted two sets of spark plug wires due to the extreme heat they omit. They are ceramic coated, but still produce extreme heat. I must note that their website states * results may vary

For all the mods I've done to my Jeep, this is the only one I regret.

Just curious as to what kind of coating as I have no issues at all with heat.

I also recall a post where you were exhibiting a lean condition with the Hypertech. Running lean would certainly lead to higher exhaust temperatures and a host of other issues. Hard to see a performance increase when you aren't getting the message through to the ECM that you are fuel starved.

This is much the same issue I have had with the Hypertech. Running lean, no additional performance and much like you I have pretty much the same set up, CAI, Headers and Exhaust. Running 94 Octane on the premium Hypertech setting seems to have alleviated my lean condition, but I'm still dumping the Hypertech in favor of the Superchips Flashpaq.

I'm new to Jeep but I've been modding Honda/Acura's for many years now.

First off what is adversited as a Cold Air Intake for a Jeep is actually a Short Ram Intake.

A real CAI has the filter located outside the engine bay. Generally below a headlight in the front bumper.

Any intake where an exposed filter is located within the engine bay is a Short Ram.

Unless the header deletes the catalytic converter/s then the power gains are very little.

Also you should compare the stock ID to the aftermarket ID of any exhaust component that your putting on.
