Default Anyone running 34's?

I realize this isn't a popular size, but is anyone running 34 x 12's? Like the Maxxis Bighorns or Goodyear M/T's? If so, what lift are you running? Could you post pics?

Thanks!

34's are an unusual size and at least for me personally, enough of a reason to not use them. If you ever loose more than one tire on the trail, it'll be hard to bum a spare off of a friend or find a sufficent replacement in whatever town you are near to. But, that's just me.

When refering to a tire guys, you have to look at the overall diameter of the tire. many many tires that say they are a 35" tire really are a 34" or a 34.2" tire. A good example is the Cooper STT. Check them out, there are a couple of people using them on here, they measure out to a 34.4 i think

We have ran a lot of the good year MT305/70/R17
These are a very nice tire and the only tire Good Year has in a 34/35 inch range with a 17 inch rim
A 3 inch lift looks best with this tire.

The Cooper STT is an awesome tire. Their 35" is 34.76" but you can go with a 315/75/15 at 34.47"

I'm running the 305/70-17 maxxis bighorns with a teraflex 2.5" bb and love this combination so far. The spare also fits nicely on the stock carrier. I was worried about 315/70-17's rubbing at full stuff with this lift and with the 34's fully stuffed I can't get my pinky in between the stock rock rails and rear tire so 35's would rub a bit there.

and here is a pic of how close the 34x12 is to rubbing...

I'm running the Bighorns in 305/70/17's (34's). I love them. I wanted this size because it's just about the biggest you can get w/ a 2" BB without alot of rubbing offroad.

I've been looking at these ones for a little while. How did you find the power loss with the Rubicon stock gearing? Do you think you would move to 4.88's?

I keep going back and forth between these and a 33x12.5 size but it seems somewhat silly to spend all that money just to get 1" bigger tires and 1/2" more ground clearance.

4.88s would be beneficial but around town and on any flat areas it is really not necessary, the big difference I can tell is as soon as you hit an incline the engine is working harder to maintain its speed. I can't really justify the cost at this point, but when my 34's are done I'll be going to 35's and then I'll regear.

That sounds fairly promising. So 6th is still somewhat useable on the highway? How much did your mileage change?
