I just put 17 14.50 40 BFG KM2s on my JK. It has Xenon fenders also. Around 7 inches of lift. Waiting for the Currie Roc Joc 60s. Should be in this week. BDS long arm. Sorry, no pictures. Will try and get some put together.

I don't think there is anything wrong with going to 40s on a short wheel base. However, i would like to extend my wheelbase when i do this conversion. I want the extra stability for climbing some huge ledges!
Anybody have experience with extending the wheelbase, either on the JK, or on any other rig?

Didn't the factory already do this for you - why not just put 40's on an unlt'd

agreed, If I wanted to run 40's I'd definitely stretch the rear frame and move the axle back while chopping up the body and doing coilovers if I was running 40's. As the 2-drs sit like they are, no way I'd run 40's and attempt to crawl...for me at least I think the CG would be too high and unstable with the short wheel base. But on that note I don't plan on more than 37's, love the 35's now and am happy asis for now.

I don't want 4 doors, plus my wheelbase will still be shorter than the unlimited and i will have a better breakover angle, and my jeep wont look like a wanna-be hummer.

You should contact Rock Crawler since they actually did this on their 2 door JK and trimmed the metal to extend the wheel base. Gen Right off road might be another good source to contact since they actually made kits to do this on the TJ, and they may have one in the works for the JK.
