Default anyone running kumho mt tires?

just wondering if anyone is running the kumho tires and if so what their luck with them has been, i have been searching for a good quality tire but still be at least kind of affordable. the kumhos arent the cheapest 35" tire that i have found but they are like $70 less than the mickey thompson mts...

so anyone got these? and if you do.. how do you like them?

thanks

Just a word of advice. Wait more than 5 hours before you bump your own thread.

I just started considering these, also. I saw that it appears they finally make them in 315/75r16. A local mod shop near me stated he sells lots of them and recommends them highly. They are a directional tire, though, so I guess that limits your tire rotation options. They do look very good. I saw a rating based on about 30 reviews and it was fairly high overall.

It means the tires have a tread pattern that is such, that it only pulls in one direction. So, you cannot swap sides when you rotate them. Only front to rear. If you look at a directional tread tire, you can clearly see the tread "pointing" to the direction it will rotate. They are also marked on the outside sidewall for direction of rotation. The following is a directional tire. It would be correct for the passenger's side of your Jeep.

would yall hesitate to run the kumho tire because it is directional? everytime i got my tires rotated on my old truck they just put front to back and vice versa anyways. i can always throw in the spare whenever i rotate as well. i just dont think i can beat an $80/tire savings.

I have a set of Kuhmo 38s on my F250. I bought them through Discount Tire and they run out really smooth. They are fairly quiet for the type of tire it is, but there is a high pitch whine as opposed to a low pitch rumble I would normally expect on a tire like this. I think it is a street tire that looks like an off-road tire, more so than a serious off road tire. Like most big crew cab trucks, my F250 does not really do any serious wheeling and spends most of its life on pavement so the tire works out well for me. Dry traction seems fine, rain traction is OK. It does not work very well in sand or the sticky Florida mud. I have no idea how good it is in the snow or for boulder bashing. If you are looking to use it mostly on road I think it is a good tire for the price.
