Default Arb compressor

I am about to install Arb twin compressor. Haven't really decided where to install it yet. My question is, if I get the manifold and air tank, is that overkill? Haven't seen much talk or pics about this.

I agree with FT. You cant go wrong with an onboard tank. You wouldnt work your compressor as hard and always have plenty of air. Im sure the twin can hold its own, but a small tank couldnt hurt. But as FT said, its your rig, do what you want to do.

X2 w/ familytime

I mounted my compressor in my passenger side rear tail light.

Does anyone know how long the harness is? I would prefer not to extended the wire harness.

I'm not sure, I will look when I get back to the office. The harness fit fine for my 4 door.

All you have to do is remove the four screws on the passenger tail light. Look inside there is lots of space, and it's ventilated. Takes a little finesse and creativity to mount but its not too bad.

Interesting, the harness provided with the single HO compressor was very short. Had to run lots of extra wire to cleanly intall in my 2 door.

A tank is only a place to store more compressed air. If the pump can't keep up with the mass flow rate and pressure it doesn't do you much good (in terms of running air tools, etc.)....

I decided a tank was a waist of space. As soon as you empty it you have to wait for it to refill to really notice the difference. I'm running a twin and it kicks ass without the tank. And it's installed under the hood.

I installed an ARB Twin using a Carolina Metal Master under seat mount. I also added a Viair 2 gallon tank using a synergy mount that mount the tank between in the engine compartment. I used PTFE stainless braided lines and Aeroquip 3/8" to -4 AN fittings and Summit Racing Hose ends. The install took 2 days, you have pull the battery tray to run the ARB power and airline to the engine compartment. That said, if you have ANY interest in a dual battery setup this is the time to do it.
