Default ARB compressor vs Viair

Any body know how the ARB on-board air compressor that you can mount under the hood compares to the Viair constant duty compressor? I just need it for tire and camping gear inflation, no air lockers. I got the viair, but it wouldn't fit under the hood with the tank. I mounted it inside in back, but I don't like how much room it takes up. So I'm wondering if the ARB performs well inflating tires. Thanks!

Mount the viair compressor behind the right rear tail light, keep it away from the heat of the engine compartment.

How quickly does it fill up tires? I'm looking into some sort of on board air solution. I was originally just going to go with a tank but if I could save the room in the back that would be nice.

I picked up a Westward unit from Grainger for 106.00$ and striped off the outer shell and stuck the rest under my drivers seat, it stays warm and dry. It puts out 2.6 cfm. I never under stood the need for a tank in this type of application. It a good unit for occasional use but for heavy duty I would go for one of the others as well.

I have a VIVAIR on a custom bracket under the hood.

Works fine.

Did you get yours set up yet behind the tail light? I think I'm going to go this route. I just ordered a kit from Northridge for a much better price than elsewhere... Cant wait!
