There should be no clearance issues at all. Is it possible you are trying to use the wrong plug?

Nope its the drain plug for sure. I am not sure what to do with it. If you look in the drain hole the casting comes up about half way up the hole.

Might be going in crooked because the magnet is pulling it to the casing otherwise the only thing I can think of is you are installing the 30 cover on the 44 diff mounting it wrong.

Installed a ARB cover on my 2012 Rubicon with 44's front and rear last month, no problems.

As one member said, the magnet can push it around a lot and it takes a quick hand to get it on

I ended up pulling the cover back off and taking a die grinder and taking a small amount of the casting out so the magnet would clear. My luck everybody elses fits but mine. Wasn't really a big deal just made me mad I had to pull the cover back off. Front cover was no problem. Wish I would have got some pictures. Anyway thanks for the help guys

I just installed Black ARB diff covers last weekend on my 2012 JKU with no problems. I guess all is not the same.
