Default ARB Locker Problem

The problem started this weekend when I was out wheeling. When I am stopped I can turn on my compressor and engage both my lockers, and even drive (slowly) with them locked. The issue comes up when I actually need them, whenever I put stress on my gears (like when I would try to climb a ledge) the compressor would kick in and just run non stop. My buddy spotting me said that my front tires were definitely spinning at different rates...

I checked the air line to from the compressor to both the front and back, and did not see any obvious leaks, and since it only does thins when I am actually trying to climb something I am not to keen on the idea of getting under and checking the line and breather while the compressor is running.

I have had these lockers for over a year now and besides my after market exhaust melting a hole in the air hose the first time we ran the line I have had no issues with it doing anything like this before.

Any advice would be helpful, Thanks.

if the compressor is running all the time, you have a leak somewhere. if you're tires are spinning at different rates, there definitely isn't enough if any air getting to the locker to engage it.

I had the same issue awhile back. My air line was leaking buy the selinoid. Put a little flex on the jeep it leaked more. On level ground it was sealed.

Also check your axle vents to see if it's an internal leak. (seal ring)

I'm in the middle of a similar problem. I suspect the air fitting at the front diff is getting stressed when the sway bar is disconnected, but i have to get it on a lift to fully replicate and troubleshoot.
I melted my rear airline on the exhaust too, right after I climbed up a creek/waterfall.

So, I got into my locker issue this weekend (actually my mechanic did while I mainly stayed out of his way). We did some mix and match between solenoids and lockers by moving the plugs and lines, this isolated the problem to the front locker itself and not the solenoid. I had the same problem, where stressing the drivetrain would cause the compressor to run almost nonstop. When we took off the diff cover and ran the compressor, we could hear a little spitting inside the locker. We pulled the locker and replaced the brown gaskets/seals/whatever they're called, there's 2 of them and they're where the air flange ring is. We replaced them despite the lack of any visual or felt defect in the gaskets. Upon rebuild the locker behaved normally.

We tested by standing on the brakes and applying up to 2000 rpm in 4lo, forward and reverse. Before replacing the seals we had demonstrable airloss by this method with the compressor kicking on predictably, after replacing the seals this did not happen.

The compressor should kick on momentarily throughout the course of use, but the problem the OP had mirrored my problem.
