Default Army M101 trailer conversion

Just bought M101 trailer in good shape and next step is to convert it into matching toy hauler. Has anyone here done that yet? Ideas on cargo rack to attach? Issues, problems, etc? Saw one on forum last week and thought it looked awesome.

Well, I have trailer envy. Since these were designed to haul ammo and arms and all the abuse to take the load just about anywhere, issues will come from how one designs what you want it to do. Keep the center of gravity low and balance the load. Look at Adventure Trailer, Sierra for ideas if camping is your thing. Good luck.

I've got a thread on a m101 build on here im working on. There are a few others on here as well. Search m101 or army trailer, or m416 for some ideas too. Congrats, they are cool

I don't mind at all. You need to head over to ExpeditionPortal dot com. Just like you I got inspired by someone on here with an M101. I discovered Expedition Portal and there is an entire section of trailer builds. And the guys on there are very knowledgable. Lots of good ideas on what you can do to our trailer.

Great trailer! Looks just like mine used to. If you have any technical questions about M101's check out steel soldiers dot com. That's about it for advice, now let the build begin!!!

I am in the middle of a build. Mine is really hard. My trailer build started out getting a civilian trailer with some really serious springs. Then I found this local soldier headed to Korea and needing to move his trailers. He had a 101 box, so I was going to make the frame fit the box. Then a local gentleman was selling off all his military trucks and trailers. He has 3 101 frames, I bought them from him. I need to make and weld on a "U" brace to replace one that is rusted out. I need to find all the brackets to bolt the bed to the frame. Finish sanding and painting.
