Default auburn ected max, need inputs.

hey guys!

to begin, my rig as a complete setup of lockers actually. Rubicon front oem locker, and ARB RD157 for rubi in the back with G2 Gold axles on 37"s grapplers.

It's been a year or so, since I first installed my locker. I had many air leak problems and I am tired of that (air line puncture, copper line rubbing on ring gear and had to shorten and re-route, and now the seals of the seal housing are leaking when the axle is under load..)

I know they are supposed to be the strongest on the market, but damn I prefer e-locker a lot more.

Yesterday, I was browsing the net and got on the site of just differentials, and saw that there is an option for rubicon axles with a e-locker and 35 splines axle shafts... Auburn Ected Max. limited slip when off, full lock when on. I almost want to sell my ARB setup for this one, and I'd like to have comments on these lockers.

Unless it has been redesigned recently, the limited slip portion uses clutches.

If you aren't up to speed on the clutch vs gear debate, read a few threads on the differences between the Detroit Truetrac and any of the clutch based limiteds on the market.

Personally I love the idea of the ected, but don't like the idea of pulling it out to replace worn clutch packs. Wish eaton/detroit would get their act together and make one based off of the truetrac.

If im not wrong, it locks with a magnet just like eaton or the oem locker. And honnestly, i just don't care about the limited slip. I can live with an open diff for daily use easily. I just want a damn e-locker for my rubi housing that have 35 splines

Have you looked at the OX locker with E actuator option?

I've been using the acted max for about two months.... 35 spline core 44/ all in snow driving right now, so it may behave differently on dry ground.

It locks quickly, and so far in the circumstances it has faced it seems to disengage quickly, but I read some reviews before I bought mine that some people had issues with it dis-engageing when new. Thus far... I've had no issues. It has not failed to engage, failed during engagement, or failed to unlock.

I've not tested it on ground where there is a lot of traction... but it seems to do awesome in snow.

The limited slip portion is interesting... I think it is working, but I've only felt it working a couple times... but snow will do that.... it masks a lot that would show up on dry ground.

I normally drive in 2wd even in snow and ice, so I thought I would really notice it when I switched to 4x4... but thus far... it seems fine.
