Default Optic armor windshields

So my windshield cracked yesterday from the heat off the defroster. Searched and seems that the windshields cracking is a common problem with some claiming to have replaced them 4 or 5 times. Does anyone have any experience with these optic armor polycarbonate windshields? Seriously considering in the hopes that it will be the only windshield I will have to buy.

So the giant blast of hot air from the defroster blew out your windshield? Ah Yah. Might want to state the real facts Jack.

You got it! When it's 28 and the hot ass heater in the jk blows on the cold ass window it cracked the bottom...watched it happen while driving on the freeway. And it did not blow out my windshield by the way, it cracked at the bottom right by the defroster vents.

what happens is a rock will nick the edge of the windshield and then when the defroster is turned on a cold windshield the crack will run. It all starts with a small nick at the edge of the glass.

Lol ok were getting a little off topic already...don't really give a **** why it cracked, I'm looking for anyone with experience with one of the optic armor windshields and what their thoughts are on it.

Man I've had my windshield replaced three times since 07 and it has cost less than that piece of fish tank for 450.

Insurance deductibles for new glass is only 100-150 bucks.

I'm intrigued by it as well, being as I need another as well, my 4th.

Now it makes sense why this is out there.
Only worry would be the tiny rock indentations made over time that cause that blinding effect.

I had one of my windshields for just over three years and it was terribly cloudy and chipped.

Have a buddy that just bought a 2014 unlimited and he's been through two already.

I need to get mine replaced but I'm hesitant because I just put on my new registration and inspection stickers. Do they take it off and put it back on? It's not easy to get new ones where I live

It's a plastic windshield. I'm thinking it'll get cloudy with scratches in short order.

My brothers and mine cracked the from defroster within an hour, given mine had a slight crack and his was perfectly fine. Don't always doubt people cause everyone knows these windshields are extremely fragile. Hell I know a girls windshield cracked on her JK cause my friend tossed a notebook at it so this stuff does happen.
