I was wondering if anyone runs these for the d30 front and/or d44 rear

I have a x .... and I go wheeling about once a month.... I think I need lockers

I have only have 4x4 hi and lo....no lim slip, etc

seems the aussie lockers are reasonably priced

But how do they hold up(as in miles they will last) and would it hurt my jeep any to have them in there as for a daily driver / once a month offroad machine

 

I put an Aussie locker in my front axle (D30). It has worked flawlessly for the past year, and I did some hard wheelin with it in Colorado without issue. Personally I would do it again for my front axle, but in the rear I would rather have a selectable locker. Just having a front locker will make a huge difference for you. Go for it.

 

No one I know with an Aussie has ever had a reliability issue, or dissatisfaction with it....and, as they are more street freindly than the other lockers, except selectables, I would absolutely get one up front.....and if they ever make one for your butt end, I'd put one there too.

 

How easy is the installation on these?

to be honest it looked scary lol but not impossible

 

Its another 1/2 hr longer than changing your diff fluid.

 

I wish I could put one in my JK, but everyone say this is a no no if you drive in the snow.

 

I dont really have any concern for snow(snowed like one time this yr)

I just dont wanna hurt my jeep as in reliability in the long run


Also does anyone know if aussie is done with the testing on the jk

I might wait till they come out with a JK verison just to be on the save side lol

 

Lockers in general are a problem in the snow...but, as the Aussie turns the outside tire faster than the inside tire, just like you'd get with an unlocked, open diff...the change is not as noticeable....so its ok from what I can see, and, you are definetely less likely to get stuck.

 

from a reliability standpoint will it hurt the life of my jeep drastically
