Default Axle ?s

Trying to decide what I want to go with axlewise. I am definately going to replace the from 30 with a PR44 or Dana 60. As far as the rear, how common are breaks on the rear 44? Besides gears what upgrades should be done? I don't want to spend 900 on ARB, 1k on axles, 500 on gears just to beef it up. I mights as well do a 60 at that point as it is not much more $$. I allways read about fronts breaking but what experience do you have with rears breaking? Most I plan on going tirewise is 37s (have 35s now). Some opinions would be great! I don't wheel alot but want to be able to have fun without constantely worrying about breaking the 30 and also to move up to some harder trails.

Thx

The 44 will be good for 37s. 60s are wider and heavy...think the have a different wheel bolt pattern too

Go pro rock in the front and replace the axle shafts in the rear 44. Should be plenty to handle 37's

Thanks for the info. Pretty much what I was thinking Planman. For the extra 1k or so might as well go to the better all aroung axle and get the 60 in the rear. Will probably do the PR44 in the front versus the 60 since there is a descent price difference in the two.

First off its great that you can afford to even look at getting 60s cuz i cant lol. If i had the choice i would go with 60s front and rear if i had the funds. you will never hear someone say that they went with an axle thats to strong but you can always go to weak and regret it.
