Default Axle Swap Rear to Front

Is it possible to use a rear 44 axle as a front axle on an 07' X? What mounting and gear modification would be needed?

I came across a rear D60 from an wheelin buddy and I want to replace my rear D44 with it. I was hoping that there was some way to modify the original rear D44 to replace the front D30...

If he does SWAP them, he'll end up with a back steering only... Like a lift truck

I ask because I came across a rear D60 for cheap but I want to beef up the front axle as well. I didnt know if you could put the rear D44 in the front and modify it to work that way....

Of course it is possible with enough $$, time and persistence. I guess you could turn coal into a diamond easier, but nobody is stopping you from trying.

Here is an idea ..... buy a pr44 for the front and be done. btw have you considered how you are going to mod that cheap d60 to work with the JK's computer? Good luck with that one.

If you want stronger axles, do your self a favor and buy dynatrac or curries solution.

Here's an idea. Buy the 60, sell the rear 44 and fron 30. Use the $$ to buy a front 44 or 60.

If he can't do it right, then please don't. Learned that the hard way.

i figured you were. I agree. I mean.. im all for making your own custom parts.. but there are just some things left to the pros... and imo.. axles are certainly one of those parts.
