Default Backspacing

Phew... it's a jungle...

This is how I will go:

*RE 4,5" longarm system

*Bushwacker flares

*M/T MTZ 37x13,5" tires

*MotoMetal wheels, 18x9"

What would be the ultimate backspacing/offset for the rims, in order to get the tire to fit along the edges of the Bushwackers (they add extra 2" width)? I think the MotoMetals are 4.75 backspacing, and I've looked at ProComp6005's as well, but they're 5 in backspacing. If I go for the latter, probably 17x9" would be better, they're 4.75... or am I out on a limb here? RE says 4.5 is recommended. Any help highly appreciated! And pics would be great!

Thanks, Dave

I'll tell you, I have 37x13.50 wide tires on my JK and even with 3.75" of back spacing, I still get a bit of rubbing at the frame rails at a full turn.

Thanks guys... so - I shouldn't go with MotoMetal or ProComp's then, as they don't seem to have any other backspacing than mentioned? I really want the 13,5" width on the tires, but of course I'd prefer as little rubbing as possible, as well as keeping them within the flare edges.

But that's just the problem, you will not be able to keep your 13.50's within the fender flare edges if you want to prevent rubbing. The only way to prevent rubbing is to go with less back spacing or install wheel spacers but if you do that, your tires WILL stick out past the flares.
