Go with 4.25. It will push the wheels out a bit farther for clearance if you ever go bigger. No clearance issues if you lift later. Pics in my album show 16x8 with 4.25 BS on ProComp 7069's

If you don't have fender/tire coverage laws, the 4.25 BS would be the better choice. With that size tire, the 5 bs will work fine, but the 4.25 will allow you to go to a bigger tire in the future without having to buy another set of rims or add spacers.

as mentioned, 4.25 would be the better back spacing to go with but, they will cause your tires to stick out past your flares a bit. something to consider if you need to keep your tires inside your fenders.

Both backspacing will be fine. It just depends how much your JK wants to grow in the future and on how much you care about tire sticking out past the fenders. Personally I would go with the 5.00" because of the laws we have in QC. Furthermore having the tires inside the fenders help to keep the JK clean.

5.00" backspacing on an 8" wheel is 12mm offset.

This offset is similar to AEV pintler wheels that many uses with 35x12.5 tires and 2.5" lift. Actually pintlers are 5.15" backspacing but they publish 4.7" to fit common thinking that you need something between 3.75" to 4.75" backspacing.

That said the 5" backspacing whells would still support a small lift are quite large tires.

Actually, 16x8 7069's for a JK are listed as having 4.00" of backspace. Probably nitpicking, but since I have that wheel, too, it caught my eye.

So, I agree with going 4.25 since I went a similar direction. However, I have a buddy with a 4" lift on his Unlimited running Rugged Ridge wheels (5" BS) and 35x12.50 tires and he's not having problems.

Good point! I forgot about that. You are correct about the 4" BS on the 7069's. I could swear that at the time I ordered these I had 3 options 4, 4.25, and 5. When I went back to look them up again I could only find 4" & 5, so I dbl checked my invoice and 4" it is. Only important to me bc I still have a spare tire to replace. Note: 4.25 will not stick out as far as the pics I posted...FYI to those who struggled with this concept like I did at first... BS vs. Offset and so on.

My head explodes when we talk about offset. Mostly because it's usually expressed in millimeters and we talk about everything else in inches.
