Default Is it bad to drive when speedo is off?

Besides getting a ticket.....

I went from the tiny X tires (30's I think) to 33's and I have an auto so my speedometer is off. I have not yet ordered my AEV Procal and I just realized I will be taking an an unexpected road trip.

I know my shift points are off, I feel that it's a little sluggish changing gears.. but It's not bad enough to really bother me. (The stupid TPMS bothers me.. but that's different.)

Is it bad to drive it this way for a long period of time? Is it bad to turn the OD off all the time? (that seems to help). Is it bad to wheel like this? Will I have any problems if I do?

Thanks for all of your help!

before I got my 5.13s I had 4.10s with 33s then with 35s for a week. The entire time unless going 70 on flat road I turned OD off. It won't hurt anything.

The stock 225's are 29" tall, the 245's (16" alloy wheels) are 30.5" tall.

And yeah, your speedo will be off. It will show you going much slower than you actually are.

As far as the OD goes, the transmission will last a lot longer if you were to never turn it on. Or only turn it on only when going over 55-60mph. Each time the OD engages, a little clutch material is worn off, which dirties the fluid faster than if it was not used.

No, it's not good. In fact, it's about the only reason your dealer can void your whole warranty because the Jeep will not register the mileage correctly.
