Default Bad experience with daystar dash panel

So i ordered the daystar tan color lower dash panel from quadratec the other day for my new v series switches from otrattw. I planned on a front and a rear locker bypass, a roof and a bull bar mounted led bar and one spare...well the panel arrives and its a totally different color than my tan interior...much darker. Oh well...i install everything and guess what, the panel will not fit. The two bottom retainers are mounted too close the the top ones and it will not allow me to put it far enough down to get the top clips closer than 1cm from their intended location. Thats a huge amount....so i had to cut the bottom hinge retainers off to get it to fit. Now i have a loose, non-color matched panel for everyone to see. Not impressed.

Maybe the pre 2011-2012 panels fit better and were a close color match to factory but please beware if you were considering this panel.

Stephen

do you have stock or auto ...they have changed it to auto only fit and i got mine installed in my manual and you have to push down hard as stated in the directions till it snaps in place ...i had trouble to until i re read the directions and they said you had to apply pressure till it clicked in place ...it takes some pushing but it does go in

I've got an auto. I pushed hard and used a little camera scope to make sure i wasnt hung up or in the wrong place.

I just installed mine (black) and it fits perfect and like the other guys said you really have to push to get it to snap in. At first I thought it was getting hung up on something. My black is very close to the same black as factory.
