I think the official line would be how Dynatrac responded earlier in the thread......that if you had knurled ball joints in there before, and you are changing to Dynatracs, you should use their knurled version. It could be a pricey experiment, both in terms of time and money, to install their non-knurled version behind the synergys......but dang I'd be curious to know.

Post #13 here is exactly what I was contemplating earlier -

https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/modi...-336307/page2/

If the knurling on the synergy BJ is lighter than what is on the Dynatrac. As stated earlier, those Dynatracs were a lot harder to press in for me.....making me think the knurling was much more significant than what the Synergys had. Problem is I'm going to memories that are 1 yr+ old and I dont have product in front of me to compare.

Our standard Dynatrac HD ball joints might fit without at problems. If they don't, you can send them back to us and we'll swap them out for a set of oversized units to make sure you've got the right ball joints installed.

That's some nice customer service right there. If the jeep isn't your daily driver, it might be worth trying this since Dynatrac is willing to help correct the issue if it doesn't work.

This is my first set of Teraflex...the previous set were oem style. So not a TF caused issue.

All the more confusing how the factory BJ stayed in there.

And this is exactly why I will only run your axles. When it's full floats and 40's time I'll be giving you guys the business again. For now my PR60 semi float/PR44 combo is working flawless for 37's.

Thank you for the response!

Please post an update once you try this. I'm really curious what the result is. I think there is a 67.5% chance that the non-knurled version works just fine.

Will do. It will be a while before I get to it but I'll let you all know how it goes.
