Banks CAI on a 2012 3.6L
Just installed the new Banks cold air intake on my 2012 3.6L...and WOW! I will be ordering a 5-point harness next...lol...just kidding! However, you can tell a response from the engine and it has a nice (not to much) throaty growl upon acceleration. I really like it and it was a easy and clean install...maybe 20 minutes. I will have to tell if it improves my MPG if any, according to the computer I did gain 1mpg on my way home, but I don't know if that is from my fresh coat of wax or the Banks...lol

Yes...I have the stock exhaust...the nice sound was from the growl on the intake of the engine. Any cold air intake will allow you to hear that growl of the engine sucking air upon acceleration. Some are more "throaty" than others. I have had 3 different ones on pre-2012 Jeeps and so far the Banks Ram Air is my favorite, plus it looks awesome. They did a really good job on the layout. My next mod is going to be the AEV heat reduction hood before the Texas heat arrives.

Does anyone know how this flows Vs. the AFE Intake for the 2012? I've been looking at getting the AFE but didn't know Banks Had released an intake for the 3.6.

After I read some posts on here saying an intake made no difference I had decided not to get one. Last Saturday when it was so pretty outside, I took an FRPP intake from my old Shelby and modified it to work on the JK. It made a big difference, most noticeably it stopped the hunting from 4th to 3rd when going uphill. Banks is a heck of a company with great stuff so I'm sure you have more gain than I. Looks good.

Banks says "outflows the stock intake by 63%, improving the Jeep's fuel economy and power, with gains of +8 hp & +11 lb-ft"
Still scratching my head over those numbers, but I like the looks and the mounting style of the Banks.
