Beadlocks
Hey guys I was looking at bead-locks and i was wondering if people could recommend some/ show pictures of theirs if they like them. I'm not looking for anything flashy or crazy expensive just looking for a simple bead-lock wheel that has a black finish on it. please include the name of the bead-locks and how much they cost with the picture if you post one.
Thanks
Thanks
Bead locks are not cheap, you're going to spend at a minimum about $250 a wheel and up. I would look at method 105's if you're looking for something on the lower end of the cost spectrum. Maybe DIY beadlocks if you or someone you know can weld.
Why do you think you need bead locks?

I am running the Raceline Monster beadlocks.
They aren't the cheapest, but I like them.
If looking for an inexpensive option, Allied beadlocks maybe an option.
They aren't hard to install but are time consuming.
Are they for everyone? No, but I have had them on my last few Jeeps.
Good luck.

I don't think I need them I was just wondering if there were any that weren't super expensive because I will be buying new wheels and tires in a few months and if I ever want to get bead locks it would make more sense to get them then instead of buying two sets of wheels but 250 is way more then normal wheels so I won't worry about it

Beadlocks are definitely more expensive than a standard wheel (Steel Wheel Beadlocks are $200+ and aluminum are $300+ on average). Also, I would not recommend purchasing beadlocks if you only "think" you will need them. Beadlocks require extra care weekly and monthly compared to a standard wheel.

For those of us who know nothing, please explain the purpose of bead locks and when to use them.
As with everything, I understand if I don't know what or when, I don't need it.
But have always wondered and wanted more info than what basic knowledge I have.
Thanks.

I've been running ATX Slabs for about a year. A lot of guys say beadlocks require weekly or monthly maintenance. With my experience so far I haven't one bolt come loose enough to worry or back out. I check the bolts from time to time and rarely find one loose (I think twice and they were about a quarter turn from clicking the torque wrench). I'm not daily driving and wheel only about 5 times a year so maybe that's why. So long story short I would recommend the Slabs and I love them.
