I've bent a couple of axles..............spun tubes out of AMC 20 and bent a D60 into a "u" shape................just not on a JK.

This is the first I've heard of this. Are we talking about the D30 or the D44? Any ideas as to the cause?

Seen this on a few TJ and YJ 30's. Inner C's are weak. Someone makes a weld on plates that reinforce the upper part of the C. I forget who at of this moment, but we used them on our 30 for the Baja Jeep......

I bent the stub axle on my old Tj's Dana 30. But I deserved it, jumped it 8 ft in the air out at dummont ywo weeks off the lot.

From what I gather the dana 30 housing didn't change much as far as the tubes go. They have always been suspect to bend and quite a few manufactures had made a bolt on and weld on braces for them.

Every one has had 35s or larger tires its just the bigger tires and wider rims give it more stess. Gusseting up the C's is the only fixs I see .

Thats disturbing since 35's arn't new to jeeps. The TJ D30 was able to with stand 35's with axle shaft and ujoint upgrades. Maybe Chrysler is having metal issues.

Hmmmm. Can't imagine why Puddlz' front axle would be bent? Oh I mean broke.

Here is what Im talking about: Picture of our Dana 30.....look at the upper part of the C. I believe we got these from T and J Performance, but dont quote me on it.

If you built the JK 30 Like this, it wouldnt bend:
