Take a look at the Cooper AT3. I have seen these in action since I produced the video here in this link. They impressed me, but better yet I watched a lot of off road industry guys, mostly journalist in the industry get impressed. They're going on my JKU

See now i dont fully agree with the smaller wheel is better idea really. I just put 18s on my new JKU and I did so for a few different reasons. First off they have a slightly smaller sidewall for the same diameter tire. It may not seem like all that much but there is a huge difference in sidewall size from 16-18. That slightly smaller sidewall allows me to run slightly less psi for on highway use without my jeep floating all over and wandering all over the road, it also gives me a much heavier sidewall construction. Go to a 4 wheel parts store and look at the difference in sidewalls between the same tire in a 16 inch then an 18 inch then tell me there is not a huge difference. Plus the 18 inch wheel gives me more options for 37s later on as well without needed to swap out wheels.

One of my highest priorities was snow

My wife works at the hospital and is on call every third day and weekend, so no matter what the weather she has to be able to get there

It's also a nice source of Bernie "jeep" points when the weather is too tough for her outback wagon

Plus the Duratrac's aren't loud on the highway, so they seem to be a good balance for daily driver and off road on the weekends

i ran them mostly on the road and a good amount on light trails. they have seen a lot of snow now also.

i had procomp Xtreme A/T 35" on a F150 that were good. they were quiet for being as aggressive as they were. i needed a better snow capable tire. (ciped would have helped)
not that you have to worry much about the snow.

good luck!
I run these and they wear like iron, look good, work great in all conditions, but are a bit heavy. Definitely one of my favorite tires.

I get the same mileage compared to stock tires!

Get a bigger size like 35 or 37 and you will notice a change but most people doing that don't really care for mileage.

X2. They've been great here in Idaho. We drive up in the Sawtooths often...they have great traction and road manners...the tires, not the mountains.

I'm sorry for the confusing question. I meant, what kind of mileage/wear can be expected from a set of Duratrac's.? 30,35,40,000 miles ?
