Best Exhaust
I'm looking to get a new exhaust in the next week or so. Anyone have any suggestions as to what is the best one for the jk to date? Should i look into a custom dual exhaust? My choice as of now is the borla cat back. I have a 2 door
All exhausts are about the same. They will open up the exhaust to cut down on backpressure. What are you looking for exactly? Sound? Performance? Are you leaving it in the stock location?
Borla puts out a good sound but at a steep price. They all give you about the same performance specs until you add headers! Flowmaster I think is a little tinny sounding. I went with the Magnaflow myself. Nice sound, not too loud and affordable. Cost was $200 custom install at a local perfromance muffler shop. Good luck on your decision.

Im looking for performance first. My friend installed the borla and saw a big improvement in power and mpg. I know its alittle pricey, but i cant refuse a million mile warranty. If i dont do this im going to go to an x pipe custom. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any disadvantages to a dual exhaust. I also want to relocate my current muffler. (my stock one has already taken a beating)
SBlair is right, there will be no really noticeable gain without headers. I was AMAZED at how quiet the 3.8 is with no muffler at all. It could definitely be run without the muffler in my opinion. But anyways, I went with the Gibson dual outlet. It was a cake install and it looks and sounds great. Plus, it is tough to beat Gibson's price. Goodluck
i went to a few local shops and they all wanted $150+ if i provided the muffler (i have 2 imco extremes) or $200+ if i got a muffler too. i asked one place how much for split exit (dual tips) and they wanted close to $500! i actually like the way it sounds with no muffler. so i go 2 45 degree bends from autozone and 2 clamps and a hanger and a gibson 3.5" tip. cost me $60 and i am at no loss except for the tip if any of it gets smashed.
