Default Best paint for grill?

I have read different things from post dating back 3+ years and can't decide what to go with. I am going to paint my grill flat black and want to know what the best paint to use is?
Also, I don't plan on primering it since I am just going to be scuffing the original paint up. Is this right or should I still primer it?

If you're talking about shooting it with a gun using quality automotive paint, I'm useless. If you're talking about spray paint, I would say don't do it. The finish will suck. I used Rustoleum rattle can bedliner and it worked well. The texture is nearly identical to the texture of the OEM fenders. And because it's textured, you don't see the flaws that you would with rattle can paint. Either way, use a quality primer, ideally one made specifically for plastic.

Thanks. I didn't realize that people were using spray-in bedliner for this.

Works great. Plus touchups are wicked easy.

I dont want to sound like a nerd but a coat of Rust-Oleum adhesion promoter will
help with whatever type coating you use, stick to your plastics.

And... Dupilcolor bedliner or flexible bumper coating spray is the best I've tried

Another vote for Duplicolor spray on bedliner. I used it on my enhanced Rubi Rails, turned out great. I even touched up a corner of my Shrockworks stubby front bumper, and another place on my Expedition One rear bumper. It matches the powdercoat finish on both of those very closely. Touch ups are a breeze.

I used the rustoleum bedliner. I'm happy with it so far.
