Default Best sized tire for 16x8 wheel and figuring out backspacing?

Hey everyone - this is my first post to JK Forum but I've been reading and following for a few months now. I purchased a used 2007 JK Unlimited 4dr last year that was already lifted about 3 1/2 inches and with 16x8 Xtreme Wheels (looks like Cragar Soft 8's) with Procomp 265/75/16 Mud Terrains. I'm looking to replace the tires now as they're getting low and wanted to find out a few things.

First, I figured out the wheel size by markings inside the wheel. However, I couldn't find anything stating the backspacing. Is there a standard backspacing for 16x8 wheels?

Do I have room to either go wider with my next tire or even bigger? From reading, it seems the tires I have on are about a 33" tire. Can I go 35" safely?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
Pat

Welcome!!

Your 265/75/16 are actually 31.5" tall
If you have 3" of lift than 35's should fit, depending on the lift brand. (Post a side picture of your jeep)
I believe the ProComp Wheels in 16" size, come in a 4.25" Back Spacing.

I'd just take one of the wheels of (spare tire) lay it on the ground and measure the inside. Measure from where the lug hole to the edge of the rim, that is your back spacing.

If you have 4.5" then you can easily go up to a 315/75/16. If you have 5" or more, you may have some rubbing.

Here's a side view of my JK. I don't have any closeups of the wheel/tire combo right now but can post when I get a chance.
