Bestop Element Doors
Okay, I've had a few people contact me about the new Bestop Element Doors that are currently featured on Project-JK.com and specifically, they wanted to know more about the "Optional door Enclosure kit converts the Element Door for cold weather usage and paint match to the original Jeep® color." Anyway, for those of you who are interested, I can tell you that the door enclosures are essencentially metal skins that you can attach to the tube frame of the Element Doors giving it a half door appearance. And, with the addition of a half-door upper installed, you can have a fully enclosed door. Here are some pics of the TJ version Bestop had at SEMA.

Hopefully this will help you out.
EDIT: forgot to mention... I just updated my Best of Bestop article to include a few more specific details about the Element Doors

I know these are now avail for the front doors, but when do you think they will be avail for the rear doors on the Unlimited?
Fronts seem to go for $380 each - that is for frame and cloth cover w/saddle bags.
Anymore info would be appreciated...
I wonder if you can order the skin alreadyt painted?

From what I was told, the Element Doors can be purchased painted to match the color of your Jeep. As far as the rear doors go, apparently they weren't even going to make them at first but after hearing the rave reviews that they had been getting, they will now work on a set and should be out some time next year.

Kind of crazy they were going to pass on making these for the 4 doors. Jeep is making nearly double the LWB vs SWB. (I think) There is a lot of $ to be made off us Unlimited owners.
Edit: Thanks for the update on this!

I emailed Best top to let them know there are people who really want the rear doors.

Also, what about the ones from Pure Jeep. Any word on those as far as price/availability?
All said and done, Ithink I like the one from Best Top the most. They seem a little more substantial with the lower bar and step. Also like the fact that you can add skins if you want.

It sounds like the skins will be painted to match. (no price yet)
