Thanks for the advise about the powerplant. does anyone know if it fits the JCRoffroad Vangaurd bumper? I know the zeon does, but not sure about the power plant.
Whatever winch you go, jamie at jeepaddons will hook you up. I just ordered an engo 10k w/syn line and accessories for crazy cheap. Give him a ring.....extension 1510.
For the reviews of engo and how much you'll use it, no reason to spend $1k plus even if you have the money to.

I have to repeat my first sentence in the origianl post. I have the best wife EVER! All she wants is a car wash as the local full service car wash. I may have to take the JKU there first to make sure they do an adequate job. LOL.

I disagree with the statement that you shouldn't spend 1k on a zeon if your not going to use it that much even if you have the money. I got it because:
1. It looks awesome
2. Its water and dust proof
3. It doesn't use a solenoid
4. It looks awesome.
5. I just needed a 5
I probably don't even get to wheel once a month, but the trails around here have lots of puddles and streams where lots of people get stuck. A winch is deed recommended as you can't always snatch someone out. I wanted something I could count on and be able to handle the weather and environment it will be subjected to.

You can message them on here. I know when I was looking to get my orfab bumper the one that fit the power plant had an offset fairlead and the one I needed for the Zeon had a centered fairlead.

Wow... where to start??
Since when did the appearance of the item matter to it's reliability and dependability? You'd be better off to focus on reliability and dependability.
Okay... you are open to spending more. Good. Having a budget can be limiting.
Quality items come from China, but not all of them. Sticking to US made is good for many reasons, but don't let it hold you back from making an intelligent decision.
The brand is good and for a very particular reason, more on that next.
Interesting... what do you mean they stepped up? I know what you mean, but what does good customer service have to do with being stuck on the trail with a non functioning winch? I'd take a long standing brand that has a good record of reliability and dependability over price any day.
Sales pitch? OP... always a good sign to be cynical.
It doesn't matter how much one uses a winch.... if it fails one time, you're ****ed!
These brands being spoken of have a very short track record.

OP. Somethings aren't worth skimping on... this is one of them. If you have the means, be careful to buy reliability and dependability. Long standing brands include Warn, Superwinch, Mile Marker, and Ramsey. I'd personally put my focus there.

On a serious note OP I haven't had to use mine that much so I can't give you a long term reliability report, but I did quite a bit of research and could not find Anyone that had a problem with their Zeon.
So my last bullet point could be
5. Its reliable and looks awesome at the same time.
I agree with you on reliability, but what if you can get something that's reliable and looks awesome. MIND BLOWN.

My Quadratec is going on craigslist.
To each their own, that is what makes it nice to have so many choices. I see very few posts on the forums where a winch of any brand has failed and left someone stuck. What I do see is a scattering of posts from Every brand where people have had a problem with their winch. Companies that fix the issue without hassle I have seen like Warm, Quadratec, and Engo will get my vote every time. I chose the Engo because it fit within my budget and I have a high confidence the if I have an issue it will be taken care of. If money were not an issue, I would have a Warn 9.5XPS bolted on the front.
