I drove around like that for awhile. The only problem I noticed is that is when my hood lifting issue started when I would pass a truck. Once I installed my Shrockworks bumper with the new skid plate then the problem went away. You will want to get something under that bumper to help reduce the hood lift problem, which is pretty damn scary when it happens.

I cut 10 inches out of each side, I used the cut-off ends for caps.

TINMAN080, I was thinking about doing the same thing to mine I was going to seam seal the joint so you could not tell it was cut down.Then have it sprayed. But i like the way you riveted it down LOOKS GREAT!

I don't think thats because you had the new skid down under. I think it's probably because the bumper weights more so it pulled your front end down just enough that the wind doesn't catch it.

Default bumper mods

I have done the same to mine except i removed the hooks and cut the ends off. Most all of the rentals in moab have this done. As for the crush cans, do any of the after market bumpers have "crush cans"?

I like the bumper with the plastic on it.

Just used the RC stubby mod and a MBRP light bar. Looks perfect to me.

Daystar hood latches = problem of lift solved!
