Default BFG 285/70/17 rubbing

Had BFG's installed the day I bought Jeep along with 2" spacer lift. Tires rub at full turn. Can't even get in parking spaces without 2 try's. Are correct backspace wheels safer than wheel spacers?

Thanks

Jay

You can run 1.5" Spidertrax wheel spacers with no issue. I have aftermarket rims with 4.5" BS and still run spacers. If you don't mind the factory rims, go with the cheaper solution.....

As for safety, I'd say at least 60% of the users on this forum run wheel spacers...

I've had Spidertrax spacers on 2 different Jeeps & never had an issue.

I dint know what size they were and if they provided better flex off road or not.
Haven't seen any reports of quality spacers being unsafe, but rims with the proper backspace are 'easier'. Spacers have more parts, so more points of failure and require more maintenance. And a lot of shops will not mount/rotate tires if you are running them.

What are you rubbing on??? Check to see if it's just that ugly plastic air dam.

Wasn't long before I tore that off.

The cheapest fix is to add a couple of washers to the steering stops.
Unless you added new front swaybar liinks, then you will need to decrease your wheel backspacing.

I figured with the cost of the spacers I might as well put that money towards some nice wheels instead. I have 285/75/16, no lift, and don't rub with 4.5" of bs.
