BFG KM2 vs GoodYear MTR
Im about a week from deciding a 35x12.50x17 in this tires and im still fighting. Ive done alot of research and im kinda leaning to the BFG because they last a bit longer and they dont got the problem of balancing and balding in some parts.
If you guys got this tires please post away on feedback (Treadlife, off road traction, ride quality on road, ect.) |
6 of one half a dozen of the other. No complaints with my km2's and prefer the look over the mt/r's. They hook up very well for me. I run them around 10-12 psi off-road

Running 285/75/17 KM2s after running 255/80s- good 50k tires, great ride for 121 load index. IF I go 35x12.5s, would probably do MTRKs because of the 111 index/ C rating and the KEVLAR, but the KM2s probably ride like pillows also. |
I had 35x12.5R17 KM2s for 50k+ miles. They wear good, but spend more than $200 taking them to different places and they never balanced right. Not much grip on mud either. My 36x13.5-17 Iroks balanced better than the KM2s.

I have 35x12.50x17 km2's and I like them a lot. I've had them for a year and 17k miles. They are wearing very well but I rotate them every 3k miles or so. I haven't had much problems with balancing them and they have done well offroad for me. I run them at 27psi on the street and like how they ride.

I have 35x12.5 km2's, they are not as loud as the mtr's on the road. Depending on what wheeling you do the km2's hook up good in the rocks, but will chunk off on the edge of the thread lugs. So after a few wheeling trips they will be out if balance. Also not the best tire in the rain. My friens TJ has mtr's after wheeling the rubicon rubbing the side wall on rock exposed the kevlar. Looks like the rubber side wall is thin.

I have km2's right now in 35's and I like them so far and have about 10k on them. I have had the older style mtr's and I liked them a lot got about 50-55k out of both sets 32x12.50. They didn't do so good in the snow. I have a set of Mickey thompson Fun Country on my wife's Tahoe 33x12.5 and love them. I have about 70k on them now and will need to put new ones on in a few months. Four wheel mag about 2 years ago rated them #1 for multi purpose. So I'll probably get those for my JK when I need tires.

I had 34" KM2's and they were very loud and vibrated/resonated at it was an awful experience. I have 37" M/T-R's now and are sooooo much quieter and no vibrations. They also measure true to size as I know I removed my 37" BFG AT KO's because they measure just over 35.25. Attachment 503713 Attachment 503714

KM2s are very quiet and zero balancing issues.
