Default BFG Krawlers?

I am looking to buy 37's in the near future, and I was looking for some wisdom from anyone who has BFG Krawler Blue labels... I have heard great, and awful things about them... so I'm trying to sift through all the B.S. and get some first hand info! My jeep is my daily driver, but I usually only put around 20,000kms (12,500 miles) on it a year (if I'm lucky).... I've had it three years and have only put on 47,000kms (29,000 miles)... I was going to buy KM2's again, but for some reason they're almost $100 more/tire than the Krawlers.. Anyways, any info at all would be great to hear.... flat-spotting (I'm in Canada, it gets cold here from time to time eh), tread-life, insane noise (don't forget, I'm running 35" KM2's right now)??? Thanks alot

I've run these tires almost since they they first came out and I love them. I've siped mine for better traction and if you drive in snow and ice you should too. I do a lot of snow wheelin and they are among the best IF you sipe them. They do flat spot a little but warm up quickly. As for noise, I find them quieter than my old KMs (not 2).

They are a VERY tough tire. I ran TSLs (bias) for many years and these are just as tough. I can't offer much help on mileage. I used to know the national BFG off road motorsports rep and he ran them on an H2. He pulled them off at 19K(miles) to have them cut apart and analyzed. He said they were at 70% when they cut them.

FWIW- I primarily wheel in rocky dirt and do it year-round so I see a lot of wet weather (snow and rain). If you keep the edges sharp (no rock crawling or dirt road drifting) you'll find this tire (when siped) to work very well in mud, snow and ice.

I hope this helps.

Am I allowed to say the name of dealers who don't support the forum on here?? It's a guy who runs his business totally online, I've dealt with him quite a bit.. He's supplied by one of the big 4wd part suppliers in the states, seems to have great prices. I paid $309/tire (CAN) for my 35x12.50/17 KM2's, but 37's are going for somewhere around $460. He's selling 37" Krawlers for $389/tire (CAN). The business is based out of Prescott, Ontario... if you PM me I can tell you exactly what it is.... (I don't want to piss off the moderators)

I thought that too.... but that's not the prices I got? Although you aren't paying $460/tire for 35x12.5/17 KM2's like we are.... I don't know why the Krawlers are so cheap? Thanks for the input though

Great info, Thanks very much!! Do they flat-spot anything like the tsl's? I had a set of those on my '85 CJ7, they really seemed to get bad... Do they do this in all weather?

I have an almost new set in my garage and I am not real happy with them. They look AWESOME but I hate the flatspots. I live in Colorado and even during the summer they will flat spot over night. They ride good after the first 3-4 miles but it shakes you to death until they round back out. My KM2's that I had before them (35's) would run circles around them on the same trail. Not sure how or why but this is my comparison of 35 KM2's to my 37 Krawlers.

I have switched to a red label Maxxis Trepadors...Now this is one AWESOME tire!!!
