I have a Banks Exhaust system and have went through my second exhaust tip. The first one rusted out badly, while the second turned a nice gold color.

Has anyone used a black SS tip. I see Ractive as one, any others? I'm not a big chrome fan, so thought the black tip might be ok?

 

get some high heat BBQ grill paint... It is a matte black so it will look cool.

 

Yeah the bbq paint is quite good, i painted my rims on my old trailblazer black with them and they did okay, iam thinking of doing my gibson tips black too.

 

X3 on the paint, did it a couple months back and it is still holding up well, and it's cheap and easy to touch up in the future.

 

You can repaint every once in a while its no big deal, its exhaust tips. i dont think it will take half an hour.

 

Those sound like good ideas. I am going to get a new tip - the one I have is turned down. Would like to have an oval one so thought I would just start with the black chrome.
