If you will do a search for plasti- dipped grille or painted grille you will get hundreds of threads on how to do it with pictures. It has been discussed at length. And welcome to the forum!

Where can I get that kind of metal insert material? I'm liking the look.

I got it from work, paid 5 bucks a square foot bought a whole sheet but all you need is 27" by 18" if I remember right. It is 14 guage perferated steel, and I used rustoleum universal hammered copper spray paint
