Default Black Majic Headlamp replacement

Anyone consider taking the factory headlights out and replacing them with Hella's Black Majic headlamps. I think it would look awesome to have that totally blacked out look; but the only question is how bright are they, are they brighter than the stock lights?

I have the Black Magic lamps on mine, They are substancially brighter then the stock headlamps. And yes I would agree, very illegal.

Ok, correct me if I'm wrong, but the only Hella Black Magics that I've seen are driving lights, NOT headlights.

They look very cool. Are these a direct drop in replacement for the stock JK headlights? The link seems to indicate they require a separate mount. Also, any control problems running these lamps? I've seen people try to replace the fog lamps with higher power lamps and run into trouble with the JK current limiting the lamps, causing them to shut off.

Hmm, will have to check the manual and see what the power requirements are for the stock lamps, perhaps they are the same.

These are Driving lights, as in close to fog lights, NOT headlights. That's what I'm saying, Hella DOES NOT make these as a replacement headlight, that I have ever seen. You can use these to replace your FOG lights, if say you swap bumpers that haev no mounting for the factory fogs, but you will have to use your factory switch to power a relay that turns on your new lights. You cannot just plug these in.

Guess I should have read the post more closely. Yah, they are driving lights.

I was looking at this http://www.4x4xplor.com/ipf-h4.html headlamp replacement. It talks about TJ though. Anyone see something similar for the JK?
