Forget the illegality aspect just for a moment, and put yourself in the oncoming driver's shoes for a minute, and decide if you'd like to be blinded on a twisting backroad and then drive, blinded, headfirst into a tree...

Go ahead an run them as "driving lights," as they're intended... but have some respect for your fellow man and don't intentionally scar their retinas (unless they flash their brights or somehow otherwise justify it in your mind).

didn't know about the beam pattern; thanks for the info. I might do this when my jeep becomes a daytime cruiser and off road only vehicle. Thanks
