Kind of surprised my grill mod using Duplicate-Color bed liner "bubbled" after about 6 months. I was meticulous in the application process. I sanded, used a primer, then applied 3 coats of liner. No problem for the first 4-6 months or so then this. Any thoughts?

I don't know really what to say except maybe the primer didn't go on right , or something between the bedliner and primer

I have been using dupicolor liner since 2009 and I have never seen a bubble , I also have never used primer

I sanded the grill down with 100grit so there was nothing left shinny. Then washed the grill with dish soap and water. Rinsed. Let dry. Then wiped the entire grill down with denatured alcohol.

Then, five light coats of Duplicolor Bed Armor. Let the coats dry for at least an hour before spraying the next coat.

I only lightly used a brillo pad and waited 20 minutes between 4 coats. After reading what you did, I'm afraid I didn't do enough :(

After 'bedlining' my door hinges and the mirror for my mirror mod (sand blasted these), I figured out that the spray goes on pretty thick if you're not carefully and humidity played a BIG factor in drying time and needs a good clean surface to stick to.

Wanting to do the grill mod... I read all I could find on the different ways people were doing their mod as well other mods using bedliners. So, I read and watched Duplicolor's videos on their Bed Armor application.

So over all, I am very happy with how the Duplicolor Bed Armor turned out on my hinges, mirror and grill.

I was contemplating doing my hinges as well do you have a pic. It's either that or the little vent grill by the windshield with a center stripe the same width down the center of the hood.
