Does it come with an auxiliary tank or any of the fittings I'll need to install it? Or is it the type that just clamps on to the battery terminals? Thanks David.

Before you decide which system, take a look at where you can put it. The 4-door folks seem OK with this, but without doing other mods, there is little room for on-board air on a 2door. I've heard of people installing aftermarket exaust placing the muffler next to the drive shaft and then using the muffler space for an air system. Under the hood there are few install locations except way too close to the exaust and then where does the tank go. Most people with a 2door go with a Powertank or a PowerPlant.

$300.00 could buy a buddy that has a york style compressor a lot of beer for airing up your tires. or it might be faster to drive to a gas station.

I recomend trying any compressors before you buy one. Real world testing airing up stuff like what you are expecting it to do.

I Hate for anyone to waste your money on something and be unhappy with it .

If you are geting the electric some time Places like Habor Freight ,PepBoys have some little compressors that look the same as the name brand

You can do a York compressor like the Kilby setup for $300, but it won't be as easy. You'd have to fab up the mounting yourself, get the parts from a salvage yard, and do some experimenting. The mounting plate for the JK from Kilby is pretty much just a flat plate with some mounting brackets attached. It would be an easy project to learn how to weld on. Kilby charges about 50%-100% markup on all his parts, so you're paying about a $300-$600 convenience charge for getting everything from one place.

If you're not the adventurous type, I'd say go for a CO2 system. Note that you can also do a CO2 system for a lot less than a Powertank setup if you source the parts yourself. CO2 Tanks can be had for less than $100, regulators are $50, then you just need a hose and fittings from Harbor Freight. Figure $200-$250 depending on what odds and ends you want. If you buy 2 tanks, you can always have one full tank around.

The little cheap air compressors are never going to run air tools, and even a Viair system is going to struggle with it. I'd much rather have a few full CO2 tanks around than a Viair.

You can convert your own A/C to oba. It is really easy to do and you can do everything with a 2.5 gal tank for about $150.

just wondering if anybody know how many watts those portable compressors from dewalt, porter cable or whoever with 2.5 or 4 gallon tanks use? it is not as compact or practical as an oba setup but you could strap one down in the back and run it off a power invertor.
