the 1" BL does not change the position of the rear bumper in relation to the body. So you end up with a 1" gap above the rear bumper. This is one of the reasons I went with a 2" BL- the 2" BDS BL comes with a bracket that re-positions the rear bumper up, to put it back in the same position as when it was stock.

Here maybe this will help with the one inch gap concern. This is the OR-FAB rear bumper and a one inch PA body lift. Go out to your JK and look at where your rear bumper sits and then use these pics to compare.
