I have a spare tire bike rack on my 33" tires. I carry a bike or two all the time which adds 30 to 60 extra pounds of stress to the tailgate. With the bikes off, my tailgate was rattling over every little bump. I took an adjustable wrench and bent the top and bottom of the black guide below latch on the gate. This mates to a piece mounted to the inside body. This has solved by rattling problem.
