Default Borla vs Gibson...

Ok, I am exhaust shopping right now, narrowed my choices to two. My QUESTION... IS THE BORLA CAT BACK (single exit) WORTH THE PRICE? (ALMOST TWICE AS MUCH AS THE GIBSON)

$64K question. All you can do is read around the forum. Personally, I think that people pay more for Borla, just because of the name. I've been watching this forum for a while, and I've never seen anybody do side by side testing of two different mufflers. They both make good products.

I can't say I have any experiance with gibson but on a different project car I had a custom borla xr-1 exhaust on a twin turbo car and it was a great set up ... the build quality was great , the sound was sick!... I would purchase their products again no question...

2 door? I'm waiting to see what Banks comes up with first before making any decisions. The prices seem to be crazy for whats out there right now.

I haven't actually used either, but I've seen plenty of Borla, and they make a high quality, but high priced product. If you have the money, that's the way to go. I've never heard/read anything bad about Borla. On the other hand, That's all that I've ever heard/read on Gibson. I've seen numerous things about them rusting out very quickly and not lasting as they should. I personally, am going with something inbetween (Magnaflow, muffler only..... relocated). Just my .02.

you won't have problems with rusting on gibson if you order the SS version (instead of the aluminized).

Borla and Magnaflow are expensive because it's a TRUE Cat-back system. Gibson is only axle back system

Some of the short lived, rusted Gibsons were the stainless one's.

Default Starting to be convinced.

I am getting convinced to cough up the dough for Borla cat back... I have heard all good things about them lasting forever. I heard the Gibson exhaust on a JK in my Jeep group, it sounds good but I am still skeptical about their QC
