Just pulled in at a gas station to check it. Pored some water on it, got some steam. Think it's getting too hot?

I would watch throwing water on it like that. You may get some thermo shock and do some damage. Just stopping and letting it cool is better or a fan would be better. If it is getting that hot does it have enough oil in it ?

Yeah thought about that after I threw it on. Was only a small bit, but still. Anyways, stoped for some dinner and seems to be good this far!

Thanks! Anyone running anything for oil other than the 80/90? Maybe something thinner to keep the gears cool?

I work in the oil field, yeah change that oil, job security. I just had gears installed myself. I plan on changing the gear oil in around 12000 miles. I did take it easy & allow the gears to cool the first couple runs.
