Break-in Period and Mods
Picked up my new X today and am wondering about the break-in period and whether I should install the new TF 2.5 BB and Cooper STT 35's that are sitting next to it in the garage.
Basically, I ordered the X model because I want to build the thing up myself and thought I'd save some money on the purchase to buy aftermarket parts. That means that I bought the 16" steel wheels with the tires that look like the 50-mile spares in most sedans. I need to know if I am going to harm the engine if I throw these 35's on there when the Jeep only has 16 total miles on it.
I felt like a total tool driving it home with those doughnuts and can't bare the thought of having to drive it with em' on during the break-in period. If you guys tell me that it has to be driven minus the 35's for awhile then I am going to have to hand it over to my wife and I'm not so sure that that would be any better an option than driving with the 35's.
So, does anyone know if I'm going to harm anything by adding big tires with so few mile logged?
