Default BROKE Somethin

Had a great day climbing and broke a few things. I'm only worried about one.

What's the rubber boot between the pitman arm and the trackbar called? Can you recommend any good aftermarket replacements?

get a moog replacement for a dodge ram. Beefy, cheap, and its a direct replacement of our stock TRE. I dont know the part number off hand, but a quick search should help you out.

It is simply a dust cover. Helps keep dirt and other small particles out of the pitman arm ball socket. You are fine for now, but I suggest trying to find the boot separately or getting a pitman arm for a spare for when the other one fails.

I second that. I bought the same one. Factory was crap. Got mine at advance for 20 something bucks. Be ready to recenter your steering wheel or your ESP will go berserk when you hit 40 mph.

Thanks guys. You just saved me tons of time searching. One last question. Don't you need a special tool to remove/replace it? I've never swapped tie rod ends out.

You will need a tie rod removal tool. Aka " the fork" you rent one from autozone, or buy one from them. Soak your threads in pb blaster or Wd40 and you will be set. It is pretty simple. Hardest part is centering the steering wheel so your ESP doesn't go nuts.
