Thanks. I've re-centered the wheel before so no problem there.

Because without that dust cover on there dirt and other small particles will get in there and prematurely wear out the pitman arm ball and socket. Now I have seen pitman arms that lost the dust cover last for years, but I have also seen them go out in less than a year after the dust cover fell off. It's hit or miss. For me just cheap insurance while offroading without that dust cover.
